Movie Review Uyyale Kannada : Sad Story
Uyyale has the routine story of poor boy falling in love with rich girl. Sanjeev (Prabhu) son of rag picker with great difficulty is given the opportunity to study in his life. Sanjeev instead of concentrating on his studies looks for his childhood friend Divya (Shilpa). He is searching for Divya since 10 years and his notebook is full of Divya name. He is mad about Divya. He loses his book of Divya names in it but it reaches safely via auto driver to Divya.
Hesitant Sanjeev finally makes up his mind and this notebook serves as the tool for love blossoming between the two. That does not last long. The rich and poor barricade cast a black shadow on the lovers.
Analysis : The hero of this film Prabhu is the minus point. The script changed for better and another good looking hero would have given some marks for this film.
Throughout the film it is difficult to sustain the hero on screen. His dialogue delivery is also poor and this is where director Dinesh should have applied his brain.
On the screenplay part he has made everything predictable. He has not made any strong scenes to sustain the interest of the audience. In fact rag picker Ramesh Bhat role is somewhat interesting.
What this young director Dinesh offers to the younger generation is zero. Instead of studies the youths falling in low is not only a bane to the society and it is tried and tested in many films. At the family front of heroine also there is no change at all.
The weak screenplay is another handicap of this Kannada film ‘Uyyale’ that has no winning points.
Performance:
Debutant hero Prabhu should look at mirror before coming in front of the camera. His looks are so misfit and so his acting, height and mannerisms. He has wasted his brother Doreswamy money by taking up the hero role.
Shilpa as debutant heroine in ‘Uyyale’ is convincing. She has the right looks for becoming a good heroine but she has to improve in her acting.
Ramesh Bhat is the main stay of this film as father of the protagonist. Collecting waste materials and selling it, showing utmost affection to his son this high ranking character artists of Kannada cinema has done a wonder. Padmaja Rao is OK and Doddanna as good friend is tolerable.
Technicality:
The music from Rickey is quite impressive in the debut. Hrudayavi ninna Palaigidhe…. Hagalu Ninnadhe Iralu Ninnadhe…. are very melodious – the lyrics written for it are also in high standards.
Cinematography from MR Seenu is very pleasant when the songs appear on screen. He has gone to some real locations to catch the rag pickers business for this film ‘Uyyale’.
Last but not the least: ‘Mirror is a good friend to become an actor on silver screen’
