Movie Review Tuneega Tuneega Telugu

Karthik (Sumanth Ashwin) and Nidhi (Rhea Chakraborthy) are childhood enemies who grew up to fall in love with each other. But they are separated due to few circumstances and the distance increases within no time. How they unite is the crux of this story.

Tuneega Tooneega is a routine love story which was told on screen many a time. Surprisingly Director MS Raju chose this very old plot to launch his son. The debut actor didn’t have much scope to show his skills except for exhibiting his dance moves. He is not at ease in dances and that was in the prime focus in this film.

This shows that proper homework was not done on the debut vehicle of Sumanth. Usually first films showcase the actor’s positive points. Tuneega Tuneega had very little to admire Sumanth Ashwin. We wonder if he has any special talents or not? There were too many flaws in the narration.

Screenplay was pretty weak and the scenes conceived were beaten to death. There was not much imagination or creativity put in from the director’s side. He failed as a writer and that let him down as the director too. There were very little bright patches in the film. Tuneega Tuneega could have been much better if it was dealt in an entertaining way. MS Raju took the boring route and he would have to blame himself for this debacle.

Sumanth Ashwin was agile and can act a bit. He has to work on his expressions and get flexible in dances. Rhea was just average. Her looks and performance were not exciting. Prabhu was decent and so is Naga Babu. Dharmavarapu and MS Narayana were wasted. Shafi was present in a silly role. Seeta was alright and Sayaji Shinde was out of the place.

Cinematography was nice. The picturesque locales were wonderfully captured. Music was average. Except for a couple of songs nothing was catchy. Background score was alright. Editing was fine and the dialogues were poor.

Director MS Raju failed to get the plot right. Choosing a weak script itself has done the damage for the film. Stories like these had to depend on comedy and music. Tooneega Tooneega failed completely in those departments.

Thuneega Tuneega suffered due to bad script. Only bright spot in this film was cinematography. We have to see if audience flock the theaters to catch a glimpse of MS Raju’s son or not.
