Movie Review Annabond Kannada 2012

The film is all about a social servant of a different kind. The nature of Bond Ravi (Puneeth Rajakumar) is to help others. From the beginning till end he goes on doing like that and that encounter many hurdles. Working in the indigenously prepared medical camp of Singapore Chandrappa the well built Bond Ravi is a Karate expert. One day he sees Meera (Priyamani) in a bus and fall in love to her charm. Meera comes to the same village where Bond Ravi is staying with her friend Divya (Nidhi Subbaiah) for a documentary film making.

At this place the love further increases for Bond Ravi but the day Meera leaves the village tells him to make it big in life. From that statement he leaves the village with Rangayana Raghu but on the way he is taken by a military guy and the mistaken identity of Bond Ravi is known in the forest. He has come there to treat the severe pain of Chandrakanth a former army official. It is at this place the sudden shoot out begins from Charlie (Jackie Shroff). Bond Ravi is very helpful to Chandrakanth at this place. Drug mafia and dreaded personality Charlie is looking for his daughter. Before Charlie run away from the counter attack of Bond Ravi in the house of Chandrakanth he knows that his daughter is with Chandrakanth.

The rest part of the film is a revenge saga of Charlie on Bond Ravi as he taught him a lesson. Charlie hunts for his daughter but sadly he kills his own daughter that is Divya. Chandrakanth daughter Meera is taken to his custody by Charlie as an exchange of revenge. It is escaping Meera from the den of Charlie task for Bond Ravi. A mega fight in the crooked place of Charlie takes place and it is a win for Bond Ravi.

Director Soori is enjoying the success of ‘Jackie’ and he has applied the same principles in ‘Anna Bond’ without showing much improvement. Give what the Puneeth Rajakumar fans require is his one point agenda. The brisk action that is mind blowing is not new to Puneeth Rajakumar films. In the story line Dhuniya Soori is not poles apart from ‘Jackie’ or his ‘Junglee’ earlier super hit films. Narrating the sensitive issues via a powerful actor like Puneeth Rajakumar was possible. He fails miserably.

The same old rugged places, gang of teenage lifters given drugs and transported in ‘Jackie’ is slightly different here in ‘Anna Bond’. The drug mafia and lifting of the youths for the fickle mindedness of drug mafia Charlie is added in this film.

A creative director Soori has not left any new promises from this film. The love angle of protagonists is also not refreshing. The additional character of Nidhi Subbaiah does not add much to the strength of the film.

In the opening of the film the cruel step taken by ‘Anna Bond’ depicted is very dangerous. Creating fear can only stop the crime is the thought of this director. Like how thorn should be removed from a thorn, Anna Bond applies the principles of tit for tat. For the trouble shooters it is only giving back severely is the answer this director says in the film.

There is struggle on the screen and some of the scenes are well conceived by director Soori but that does not bring him full marks for the over all of the film.

Puneeth Rajakumar came from ‘Appu’ via head fight (called as Dichchi in Kannada) and that is continued in the last lengthy fight. It is terrific and mind blowing.

Power Star Puneeth Rajakumar does not disappoint his fans from his action feast. Sterling fights and hard work of this nonstop hitter in the box office continues. The action portions are in excess and lengthy at places.

Puneeth Rajakumar is a good performer which he had proved in Akash, Arasu, Milana films. For Puneeth Rajakumar it is time to think on the lines of new thoughts and look for something sensational add it with performances. The routine action masala is not long lasting. The song Kanadanthe Mayavadhanu…..is well sung by Puneeth Rajakumar and his childhood days clips are mixed in this film song.

Priyamani has done her job efficiently and it needed some more tasks for this national award winning actress. Nidhi Subbaiah continues her role in ‘Krishnan Marriage Story’.

Rangayana Raghu wins superbly from his dialogue delivery and histrionics. Jackie Shroff looks jaded and his Kannada diction is a major minus point of the film.

The technical excellence is seen when the action scenes are fed to the eyes of the audience. Sathya Hegde has given very strong and absorbing scenes even in the song shooting also. The showcasing the action scenes are fabulous.

V Harikrishna in the music has mixed the melody and peppy tunes. Enendhu Hesaridali Yee Chandha Anubavakke….is the best melody and best peppy song of the film ‘Anna Bond’ is Thumba Nodbedi Lovvu Aithade….

The choreographer Imran Sardaria has proved that in the coming days he will be ‘Sardar’ of choreography. The steps he has given for Puneeth Rajakumar is admirable.

The editing of this is film is in right order and it is not disturbing at any place. Shashidhar Adapa art direction gives a feel of the ancient India.

Last but not the Least – Be brave in life. For that you have to strive hard.
