Review Ellellu Neene Nannallu Neene
‘Ellallu Neene Nannallu Neene’ is a brother and sister sentiment laced with love in this Dr Richard Casetellino debut Kannada film.
The protagonist Ravi (Rohith) comes as a driver to the affluent businessman Rajasekhar (Ninasam Ashwath) residence. Rajasekhar has a foreign returned sister Rani (Supritha). Sincerity of Ravi is what appreciated but very soon sister of Rajasekhar – Rani falls in love with intelligent Ravi. The level of obsession of Rani to Ravi reaches height when she asks him to tie the nuptial knot in front of the Vaishnodevi Temple in Shimla. Ravi is at Shimla to collect the gratuity cheque of his father an ex-serviceman.
Ravi with apprehensions agrees for marriage and back in the hilly region of Madikeri it is as expected. Rajasekhar disagrees to his sister marriage to Ravi, but he does not reveal it to her. In the camera Rajasekhar finds the close up photographs of his sister with Ravi.
Now Rajasekhar does not want Ravi to be on the scene. In a fit of anger he pushes him in a remote place inviting him for talks. Rajasekhar sister Rani is not aware of this meeting. Rajasekhar pretends that Ravi is missing and after a few months he finds his sister Rani is pregnant. Rajasekhar who has looked for high family match to his sister is shattered. He wants abortion at any cost to keep up the prestige. He brings her sister to another undisclosed place for safety. Rani does not agree for abortion. She delivers the child and at this stage also Rajasekhar uses wrong method to separate the child and mother. He hands over the just born baby of his sister to an orphan house.
Sounds interesting but the one who takes the child sent to orphan house is none other than Ravi. How Ravi has surfaced again. You have to look at the theatres if you have enough time.
ANALYSIS - The first half is a damp squib. Dr Richard Casetellino in his first Kannada film has shown some good promises but the length, unnecessary scenes and non cooperation movement by the artists except Ninasam Ashwath he suffers in his product ‘Ellallu Neene Nannallu Neene’.
The screenplay of the director could have come out with many ups and down like the hilly region of Madikeri. He has not given a thought to the captivating screenplay and used only straight narration technique that is boring.
A film of this type ‘Ellallu Neene Nannallu Neene’ is fit for 26 episodes television serial. The chances of holding the interest of audience director Richard Castellino has lost because he is too old. He has not seen the current crop of films and his thought is outdated.
The chances of making this a thriller director Richard Castellino has lost. He could have showed the brother role as a strong villain and finally explained why he did so.
PERFORMANCE - This is the film of Ninasam Ashwath. A wonderful performer in emotional and cunning brother for the good of his sister he deserves awards.
The protagonist of this film Rohith should immediately join the acting classes. He is not aware of free flow of delivery of dialogues. In all angles he does not fit on the silver screen. He has the height color and personality. He should chisel properly.
Supritha in the close ups should be careful and for the performance she is supposed to deliver she could stand in front of the mirror.
Rajanikanth in the comedy role is hopeless and Namratha Hegde has nothing to boast.
TECHNICALITY - the music of ‘Ellallu Neene Nannallu Neene’ scored by Vijayabharathi is very nice. Two songs in the film are melodious. Helibidu Pritiyagidhe…Mididha Manasu Mudidha Kanasu….
The 100 plus films cameraman Mallikarjun has given a good cinematography. In one of two places it is out of focus.
LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST - Do not fall in love with a girl who has a brother!
