Review Kaartik Kannada Movie : Rich and Poor Difference
This Kannada film bearing the name of the hero Karthik as title is a usual stuff of rich and poor barricade. Karthik (Karthik) living with his mother on the sides of a river bank is a macho youngster, horse trainer and grows vegetable for his living. He and his mother lost heavily in the business after Karthik father death.
Karthik has a childhood friend Nisha but she is grown somewhere with affluence of her father Vijayaraj (Avinash) is hot headed. When Nisha father purchases the property in a new place that is 50 kilometers away from where Karthik is living the childhood friends grown up now come face to face.
Karthik knows that Nisha is his childhood friend but Nisha is not aware of her childhood friend. It is only after usual clashes Karthik calls her as ‘Chinnu’ the memory of Nisha goes back. She recognizes Karthik and it is love between the two.
The barricade for this is Nisha father Vijayaraj. He does not like the match but his business partner has ulterior motive. Karthik saves Nisha father from the clutches at the last minutes through his muscle power.
Analysis:
The debut film of Karthik ‘Yuva’ was much better than this one. Hero is a macho youngster with martial arts and he is trained in the Cheetah Yagnesh Sehtty camp where Bollywood stars have learnt the tricks of the trade.
Several films in the past in various languages such stories have come and gone. The story is ages old!
How come director Satish Shetty has not properly used the stunts and action properly in this film is the major drawback of this film. Karthik Kannada film is a routine stuff also because there is nothing exclusive to the audience from this debutant director from Marathi films Satish Shetty.
Allowing the audience to easily gauge what’s going to happen is not the job of a director. He should keep them glued to the seats to fetch more audience in the coming shows in the theatres. On this part ‘Karthik’ miserably fails because the story line and screenplay are less than average.
The locations selected for this film is pretty interesting and there is visual splendor. The artists are quite competent but they do not have the stunning elements.
Performance:
Karthik in his second film is not convincing. He was good in his first film ‘Yuva’ Kannada film. The chilling action scenes expected from him is not missing. There is no quickness and sharp shots in the action although he knows Martial arts is not convincing.
Karthik should change his appearances when it comes to close ups and he has the great strength that should be properly utilized only he works under experienced directors.
Archana Gupta already familiar face not only looks sweet but in anger filled roles she is convincing. Avinash as usual grand and Sudha Belawadi is as sober as ever. Raj Purohith making debut in this has not got good scenes to prove his talent. Sunil Kuri comedy is no help to the film.
Technicality:
The productions values make the film look grand. The outdoor cinematography that too captured at Manchina Bele Dam with the backdrop of hills and river in front of the house of the hero is very good view to the eyes. Manjunath as cameraman makes no mistakes.
Music director John Warki has passed two passable tunes. Oh Nanna Balya Geleya….is the best one.
Last but not the least – One should work according to the capacity and not keep it in the cupboard!
